Welcome to Balance Acupuncture & Integrative Health

Abigail Thomas Dacm

At Balance Acupuncture & Integrative Health in Ithaca, New York, we offer thoughtful, personalized care that blends the wisdom of traditional medicine with modern, evidence-informed practice. Our work centers on services that are designed to support your body’s natural capacity to heal and restore balance.

Whether you are seeking relief from pain, navigating infertility, menopausal changes, or chronic illness, we create a plan that meets you where you are.

We specialize in supporting women’s health across all stages of life, while also welcoming anyone seeking a more integrative, personalized approach to their care.

Our approach is collaborative and integrative. Your care is designed to complement your existing medical treatment, not replace it. Here, traditional wisdom and contemporary medicine work together — respectfully and intentionally.

At Balance, every treatment is guided by careful listening, clinical observation, and evidence-informed practice.

Acupuncture is a time-tested therapy used to support women’s health and a wide range of other conditions. At Balance Acupuncture & Integrative Health in Ithaca, New York, acupuncture is commonly used to address PMS, menstrual pain, fertility support, menopause symptoms, headaches, as well as stress-related, painful and chronic conditions.

Treatment plans are individualized and may be coordinated with other therapies such as physical therapy, counseling, massage, fertility treatment, and primary medical care. Acupuncture works by supporting the body’s natural regulatory systems — helping to reduce pain, calm the nervous system, and promote overall balance.

Integrative Health Consulting is a service that provides individualized guidance informed by my doctoral-level training and more than 25 years of clinical experience. It is designed for people who want a deeper understanding of their health and clear, personalized guidance for natural approaches to healing.

In these sessions, we step back and look at the full picture — your symptoms, patterns, stress response, sleep, nutrition, and daily rhythms — and how they interconnect. Together, we develop a personalized plan that may include lifestyle adjustments, evidence-informed supplement and herbal recommendations, and practical strategies to optimize your health.

Herbal medicine and supplement recommendations are most effective when guided by advanced training and careful individualization. With doctoral-level education in herbal therapeutics and decades of clinical experience, I provide personalized guidance based on an evaluation of your health history, current concerns, and health goals.

Recommendations may include individualized herbal formulas and targeted supplement protocols.

At Balance, herbal and supplement guidance may be incorporated through an Integrative Health Consultation or alongside acupuncture treatment.

At Balance, we believe that every stage of a woman’s life is an opportunity for holistic healing and growth. We offer an integrative approach to women’s health that combines acupuncture, herbal medicine, and lifestyle changes tailored to your unique needs.

Her greatest concern was the fear that she would not be able to get pregnant at all. She was also very worried that she and her husband would not be able to afford the tens of thousands of dollars required for IVF treatments as her insurance did not cover IVF.
